A Champion Will Rise

The Celebration Bowl started with the Howard returning the opening kick all the way to the  FAMU 27 yard line. Four plays later The Bison were up 7. The rattlers first drive ended with a fumble by Jeremy Moussa at the FAMU 37. Three plays later the Bison were up 14-0. The Rattlers could not of started the game off wrse. At the end of the first quarter FAMU fumbled again, however the Rattlers were able to recover. The Second quarter started with the Rattlers in the Red Zone running the ball for their first Touchdown with 13:20 left in the half. However the struggles continued for the Rattlers and Jeremy Moussa as the QB was sacked for a Safety to push Howards lead to 16-7. The Rattlers were able to get the ball right back for Moussa and the offense but on the ensuing drive Moussa threw an interception directly to the Howard defender. The dark cloud defense returned the favor three plays later with a Deco Wilson interception giving the ball back to Moussa and the Rattlers in Howard territory with a minute left in the first half allowing the Rattlers to kick a Field Goal to push the score to 16-10 at the half.


The second half started slow for both teams as either FAMU of Howard were able to score. Then the fireworks started. At the beginning of the fourth quarter FAMU capped off a 12 play 83 yard drive to give the Rattlers their first lead of the game 17-16. After a three and out forced by the dark cloud defense the Rattlers went 70 yards in just 3 plays to go up 24-16. The Bison were able to drive down to kick a field goal to close the gap to 24-19. Then on the Rattlers next possession Moussa threw his second interception of the game and this time it was returned for a touchdown as Carson Hinton of the Bison jumped a wide receiver screen. The Bison now were up 26-24 after shockingly not going for 2. The Rattlers answered right back on a 4 play 66 yard touchdown capped off by a 38 yard touchdown pass from Moussa to Sheread giving the Rattlers a 30-26 lead with 5 minutes to go in the game. The Rattler Defense picked off Quinton Williams on the next drive giving the Rattlers the ball with a 4 point lead and 4 minutes left in the game. The Rattlers didn't take any chances on their next drive running the ball three times before punting the ball back to Howard with less than two minutes left in the game Howard had the ball needing a Touchdown to win. The first play of the drive was a screen pass, but the running back slipped and fell and Isiah Majors was right there for the interception. The Rattlers gained one first down to seal the deal and win the Celebration Bowl. Moussa finished the game 19-32 for 289 yards 3 tds and two ints.
